I am a fully insured and registered nutrition and functional medicine practitioner, I am BANT and CNHC registered, hold a membership with IFM and am a senior associate with the Royal Society of Medicine, both of which I regularly undertake further training at. I have also completed the autoimmune specialist course under Dr Datis Kharrazian, a world leader in autoimmune disease.
My journey started when I left Withington Girls' School and went to study Neuroscience at Manchester Medical School. I always had a fascination with science, medicine and the brain.
During this time I became ill myself, suffering with many unexplained neurological symptoms. I received little help, many misdiagnoses and years of fighting and uncertainty. Thankfully I discovered functional medicine and nutrition and started to help myself. It took 15 years to get a medical diagnosis and even then there was little that could be done. I however had already started to help myself. I looked at gut health, nutritional deficiencies, functional testing, genetics and chemical imbalances.
Seeing the difference this approach could have I started to study towards my registration in nutritional therapy and nutritional therapy, so that I can help others like me.
I've been where you are, I know how you feel...
My time at the renowned ION (The Institute for Optimum Nutrition), in London, taught me so much about how diet and lifestyle can effect our wellbeing and further enhanced my interest in natural approaches to optimising health.
It also developed my interest further into functional medicine and led me to complete the Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice course with IFM (The Institute for Functional Medicine), in the USA, where I continue to study. The IFM gives me the unrivalled opportunity to work with and learn from some of the doctors at the forefront of scientific research into both medical science and nutrition.
Personally I work on my own health and always will, functional medicine and clinical nutrition is not an overnight cure, it is a way of life, a way to optimise your health and be the best you can be.
The key is to find the right balance for you and that is what I love about nutritional therapy and functional medicine, it is personalised there is no one approach that fits all. Now I want to use my knowledge and experience to help you!
Nicole has also studied Neuroscience at the University of Manchester Medical School and holds an LLB(Honours) in Law.
My aim is to use Functional Medicine & Clinical Nutrition to help you achieve your goals, improve your energy and live your best life.
